thanks for this, scott. all along, i thought i could just intellectualize the messy parts and follow a routine just to get through it. but still feeling stuck. realizing now that all i do is run away from it and give a bandaid solution.
so glad it landed!! and yes you are certainly not alone in that, so we want to greet that impulse to run away with as much warmth & compassion as we can
This was such an excellent essay. Really drove home for me the areas where I could go deeper into myself. I think your words spur on a renewed journey within my βstickyβ parts, led by curiosity at the helm.
Will read this again whenever I am reminder, thank you for sharing your wisdom, Scott ππ½βΊοΈ
I love your practice to connect and feel into the emotion instead of resisting it. Most of my life I ignored my body's signals. It was a thing to manage, to fix or just ignore. When I went through menopause, I could not ignore it any longer. When I opened a dialogue with my body, it told me exactly what it needed. I was able to heal my skin issues, my hair loss, brain fog and depression. I'm no longer taking any medication and have never felt better than I do today at 58. I wish more people could experience this type of healing. Thank you for sharing your wise words.
I love how well you described this practice. I did somatic therapy for a few years and it opened my mind to an expanded understanding of myself. Felt like witchcraft!
